Academic Guidance and Withdrawal Recommendations

For the 2025 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus, this page explains the preliminary and formal withdrawal recommendation process for students in the Faculty of Engineering.

Preliminary withdrawal recommendation

Department heads and equivalent academic leaders may provide oral educational guidance and issue a preliminary withdrawal recommendation to students whose academic performance is poor and meets the GPA standards and other criteria established through deliberation by the Faculty of Engineering faculty council.

Formal withdrawal recommendation

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering may issue a withdrawal recommendation to a student who has received a preliminary withdrawal recommendation and whose poor academic performance meets the GPA standards and other criteria established through deliberation by the faculty council.
