Licence requirements for mathematics and science

For the 2026 academic year at the Faculty of System Design and Technology on the Tokyo Senju Campus, many local authorities require applicants for mathematics or science teaching positions to be expected to obtain both middle school and high school teaching licences. Some local authorities and private schools may not allow applicants to take the teacher recruitment examination unless they plan to obtain both licences.

Passing the teacher recruitment examination

For the 2026 academic year at the Faculty of Future Science on the Tokyo Senju Campus, students must take and pass a teacher recruitment examination to teach in a school. The selection process differs between public and private schools.
