Vehicle Commuting Permission at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus

For the 2026 academic year, students in the Faculty of Science and Technology may not commute by car or other vehicle without a parking permit. The listed 2025 permission conditions include vehicle inspection coverage, driving-licence duration, difficulty using public transportation, and required insurance coverage.

A parking permit is required

At the Saitama Hatoyama Campus, Faculty of Science and Technology, during the 2026 academic year, commuting by car or another vehicle is not permitted without an issued parking permit. This prohibition also applies to temporary visits to campus: a student without a parking permit may not drive a vehicle to the university even once.

Listed conditions for vehicle-commuting permission

For the 2025 academic year at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus, Faculty of Science and Technology, the listed conditions for vehicle-commuting permission include: being covered by the 12-month periodic inspection and maintenance system under the Road Transport Vehicle Act; having held a driving licence for at least six months; being unable to commute using public transportation; and being covered by compulsory automobile liability insurance and the voluntary automobile insurance specified in the relevant text.
