Credit Recognition After Readmission

For 2025 readmission at the Tokyo Senju Campus in the School of Engineering, credit recognition depends on the course category. Common education, engineering foundation, and specialized courses follow different rules.

Common education credits

Common education courses are recognized regardless of the year to which they were originally assigned, using the credit value of the readmission destination. The evaluation is recorded as RS, RA, RB, or RC. The department at the readmission destination may instead assign RN. Human sciences courses outside the Engineering Education and Global Education fields are recognized comprehensively. However, when a student is readmitted from one of the School of Engineering, School of Future Science, or School of System Design Engineering to any of those three schools, Human Sciences courses in the Engineering Education and Global Education fields are recognized through course matching.

Engineering foundation courses

Engineering foundation courses in workshops, mathematics, natural science and technology, and information are recognized through course matching.

Specialized courses

Specialized education courses are recognized through course matching. If a matching course cannot be identified, the department at the readmission destination may recognize the course comprehensively.
