Makeup Exam Availability and Missed Makeup Exams

The rules differ by academic year, campus, and faculty. In some faculties, no further makeup exam is offered if you miss a makeup exam, while in another faculty the instructor decides whether a makeup exam will be held.

If you miss a makeup exam

For the 2025 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Future Science, and for the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Engineering II, no additional makeup exam will be held if you miss a makeup exam, even for a truly unavoidable reason. Students who wish to take a makeup exam must complete the required procedures.

Whether a makeup exam will be held

For the 2026 academic year at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the Faculty of Science and Technology, the method of conducting a makeup exam is decided by the course instructor. A makeup exam may not be held.
