Process from a Preliminary to a Formal Withdrawal Recommendation

For students with poor academic performance who meet the established GPA criteria, the process may proceed from educational guidance and a preliminary withdrawal recommendation to a formal withdrawal recommendation.

How the withdrawal recommendation process works

The department chair may provide oral educational guidance and issue a preliminary withdrawal recommendation to a student whose poor academic performance meets the GPA criteria and other criteria established through faculty deliberation. Among students who have received a preliminary withdrawal recommendation, the dean may issue a withdrawal recommendation if the student meets the established GPA criteria and other criteria for poor academic performance.
