Recruitment for the Higher Education Study Support New System is generally held in early April and September.

Financial eligibility

The Higher Education Study Support New System combines a grant-type scholarship with a tuition-fee reduction. It began in April 2020 and is intended for people who have difficulty pursuing their studies for financial reasons.

Academic criteria

For first-year students, one academic criterion is a high-school or equivalent-school grade average of at least 3.5, or passing the upper secondary school equivalency examination. For students in their second year or above, one academic criterion is that their GPA or equivalent is within the upper half at their enrolled faculty or equivalent.
