Scholarship Eligibility and Financial Circumstances

Scholarships may be available as loans or grants to students with strong academic performance and character who are experiencing financial hardship. Eligibility and consultation arrangements vary by faculty, campus, and academic year.

Who may be eligible for scholarships?

Scholarships provided by the Japan Student Services Organization, the university, and other organizations may take the form of loans or grants. They are intended for students who demonstrate excellent academic performance and character and who are experiencing financial hardship. For the Faculty of Science and Technology for Future at Tokyo Senju Campus, this description applies to the 2025 and 2026 academic years. A similar eligibility description applies to students in the Faculty of Engineering, Division II, at Tokyo Senju Campus in the 2025 academic year, and to students in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the 2026 academic year.

If your household finances suddenly change

In the 2026 academic year, a student in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus who seeks a scholarship because of a sudden change in household financial circumstances may consult the Student Welfare counter at any time. The counter reviews the consultation and checks whether the student is eligible to apply.
