Medical Benefit Treatment-Day Requirements
This page explains how treatment days affect medical benefits under the Student Education and Research Accident Insurance, including the applicable thresholds for different types of accidents.
How treatment days affect benefits
Medical benefit amounts vary according to the number of treatment days required until you can resume normal daily life.
Regular classes and school events
For accidents that occur during regular curricular activities or school events, medical benefits are payable from the first actual treatment day. An actual treatment day is a day on which you receive inpatient or outpatient treatment.
Extracurricular club activities
For accidents that occur during extracurricular club activities, medical benefits are payable when the actual treatment period lasts at least 14 days.
Other on-campus and movement-related accidents
For accidents that occur on school premises outside extracurricular activities, and for movement-related accidents, medical benefits are payable when the actual treatment period lasts at least four days.
