Student Adviser Consultations and Office Hours

Learn what student advisers can help with and how weekly consultation hours and locations are arranged for specific faculties and campuses.

What student advisers can help with

The university assigns a student adviser to every student and provides a consultation system for academic guidance, career or further-study planning, and university life. Student advisers are full-time faculty members who set aside weekly office hours. Depending on the applicable faculty and academic year, students may consult an adviser about student life, studies, employment, graduate-school plans, scholarships, career guidance, extracurricular activities, and various student procedures. For the 2026 academic year, this system applies to students at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of System Design and Engineering. The 2025 information also states that students in the Faculty of Future Science at Tokyo Senju Campus may consult their adviser about student life, studies, employment or graduate-school plans, and scholarships.

Tokyo Senju Campus: 2026 office hours and location

For the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of System Design and Engineering, each student adviser must provide one hour of office hours per week. The adviser will be present at a location selected by the adviser, and the office hour and location must be announced in advance to students of the relevant faculty.

Tokyo Senju Campus: 2025 office hours and location

For the 2025 academic year in the Faculty of Future Science, student advisers hold weekly office hours in faculty offices or other designated rooms. The office-hour times and consultation locations are posted on the bulletin board inside the office on the third floor of Building 2. The office hours and locations must also be made known in advance to students of the relevant faculty.
