Insurance Benefit Eligibility and Treatment-Day Requirements

This page explains the minimum number of treatment days required for benefits after different types of accidents and how the benefit amount is determined.

Minimum treatment days by accident type

For accidents during extracurricular or club activities, insurance benefits are payable when the actual treatment period is at least 14 days. For accidents that occur on university premises outside extracurricular activities, or while traveling, benefits are payable when the actual treatment period is at least 4 days.

These thresholds apply to the 2025 academic year for students at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, and to the 2026 academic year for students at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Systems Design and Technology.

Accidents during classes and university events

For accidents during curricular activities or university events, insurance benefits are payable from the first day of actual treatment. Actual treatment days means the days on which you were actually hospitalized or attended an outpatient appointment.

This rule applies to the 2025 academic year for students at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, and to the 2026 academic year for students at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Systems Design and Technology.

How the benefit amount is determined

The medical insurance benefit amount varies according to the number of treatment days required until you are able to return to your normal daily life. This information is provided for the 2026 academic year for students at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Systems Design and Technology.
