Recording Attendance with the Classroom Card Reader
Learn where to tap your student ID card, how to tap it correctly, and how to recognize successful or failed attendance recording.
Where and how to record attendance
For the 2025 academic year, students in the Faculty of System Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus record attendance by tapping their student ID card on the attendance-management card reader mounted on the classroom wall. The reader may be inside or outside the classroom. Touch the card gently. Some classes record attendance more than once, such as at the beginning of class and during class.
For the 2026 academic year, students in the Faculty of Engineering, Division II, at Tokyo Senju Campus use a card reader mounted on the wall inside or outside the classroom and should touch it gently with their student ID card.
How to confirm the card reading
For the 2026 academic year, a successful card reading is indicated by an OK sound, which is one beep, and a green lamp. An error is indicated by an NG sound, which is three beeps, and a red lamp. The terminal lamp's blinking can also be used to confirm the result, so check the lamp as well as listening for the sound.
