When to Complete 介護福祉論 Before the Care Experience

Students who plan to undertake the care experience must complete 介護福祉論 and earn its credits before the experience. Some programmes specify completion by the second year.

Completion timing and related requirements

If you plan to undertake the care experience, you must have already completed 介護福祉論 and earned its credits before the experience takes place. For Tokyo Senju Campus students in the 2025 Engineering and Future Science faculties, and in the 2026 Engineering and System Design Engineering faculties, the guidance is to take 介護福祉論 by the second year. For the 2026 Science and Technology Faculty at Saitama Hatoyama Campus, the course and its credits must be completed before the academic year in which the experience takes place. The same before-the-experience requirement applies to the 2026 Future Science Faculty at Tokyo Senju Campus. For the 2025 Science and Technology Faculty at Saitama Hatoyama Campus, students must also be eligible to advance to the third year. Students seeking only a middle-school teaching license must take 介護等体験特論 at the same time as the care experience, which normally takes place in the third year.
