Eligibility Requirements for the Teacher-Training Course

Students who wish to take the teacher-training course must meet requirements concerning teaching aptitude, the ability to complete teacher-training subjects, and, in some scopes, the intention to become a teacher.

Requirements by academic year and faculty

For the 2025 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus, students in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Second Division, or Faculty of Future Science who wish to take the teacher-training course are expected to have the aptitude to become teachers, the ability to sufficiently complete the teacher-training subjects, and the intention to become teachers in the future. The same three requirements apply in the 2026 academic year to students in the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Second Division, Faculty of Future Science, and Faculty of System Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus. For the 2025 academic year at Saitama Hatoyama Campus, students in the Faculty of Science and Technology are required to have the aptitude to become teachers and the ability to sufficiently understand the teacher-training subjects, including earning the relevant credits.
