Teacher-Training Course Fee and Course Eligibility

Payment of the teacher-training course fee is generally required to take teacher-training courses, but the applicable rule and exceptions differ by academic year, campus, and faculty.

2025: Tokyo Senju Campus

For students in the Faculty of Future Science, only students who have paid the teacher-training course fee may take teacher-training-related courses. Some courses in the Second Division of the Faculty of Engineering are identified as exceptions to this condition. For students in the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of System Design Engineering, teacher-training courses must be registered by the student during the course registration period, and only students who have paid the teacher-training course fee may take the related courses, except for some courses in the Second Division of the Faculty of Engineering.

2025: Saitama Hatoyama Campus

In the Faculty of Science and Technology, students who have not paid the teacher-training course fee cannot take the teacher-training subjects listed on the relevant page.

Listed courses and human sciences exceptions

For the Faculty of System Design Engineering in 2025 and the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in 2026, the listed courses require the teacher-training course procedure, including payment of the teacher-training course fee. In the Faculty of Science and Technology, courses in the human sciences are outside this requirement except for Introduction to Education, Sociology of Education, and Educational Psychology. The listed courses include teacher-training, subject-teaching-methods, educational-practice, special-support, career-guidance, information, ethics, and related care-experience courses.

2026: Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus

Taking the courses listed in the table requires the teacher-training course procedure, including payment of the teacher-training course fee. Human sciences courses are outside this procedural requirement, except for Introduction to Education, Sociology of Education, and Educational Psychology.
