Preparing for Teaching Practicum

Key preparation steps include registration, practicum arrangements, required fees, briefings, and completion of pre- and post-practicum instruction.

Third-Year Registration and Practicum Arrangements

In April of your third year, register for first-semester and full-year courses, including summer intensive courses. You must also negotiate and report acceptance for your teaching practicum and pay the fee for the care experience placement.

Briefings and Prior Instruction

If you take courses involving a teaching practicum or a care experience placement, briefings and prior instruction will be held at the required times for the practicum and related activities. Attendance is mandatory.

Requirements Before and After the Practicum

Before beginning your teaching practicum, there are matters that must be completed, including pre- and post-practicum instruction requirements.
