How GPA Affects Registration and Academic Progression
GPA is used in decisions about exceeding course-registration limits and in other academic decisions. The applicable uses differ by academic year, campus, and faculty.
Tokyo Senju Campus
At the Tokyo Senju Campus, GPA is used as an evaluation criterion when deciding whether students may register for courses beyond the course-registration limit. It is also used for decisions such as early graduation and internal advancement to graduate school. These uses apply to the 2025 Division II Faculty of Engineering, the 2026 Faculty of Engineering, the 2025 Faculty of Future Science, and the 2026 Faculty of System Design and Technology, within their respective scopes.
Saitama Hatoyama Campus
In the 2025 Faculty of Science and Technology at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus, GPA is used for faculty decisions, including graduation after three or more years of enrollment, permission to take courses beyond the registration limit, academic guidance, and other purposes.
