Transfer Credit Recognition: Credit Counts and Grades
This page explains how recognized transfer courses are counted and graded for specified transfer pathways at Tokyo Senju Campus, including transfers from the Faculty of Engineering Second Division and transfers involving the three designated faculties.
Transfers from the Faculty of Engineering Second Division
For the 2025 rules applicable to the Faculty of Engineering Second Division, recognized common education courses, including human sciences and English courses, are counted using the credit value of the receiving faculty. Recognized specialized education courses are also counted using the receiving faculty's credit value.
For the 2025 transfer case to the Faculty of Future Science, common education courses are recognized regardless of their designated academic year and counted using the receiving faculty's credit value. Their grades are recorded as RS, RA, RB, or RC, although the receiving department may instead use RN.
For the 2026 transfer rules covering moves from the Faculty of Engineering Second Division to the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Future Science, or the Faculty of System Design and Technology, common education courses are recognized regardless of their designated academic year and counted using the receiving faculty's credit value. Grades are recorded as RS, RA, RB, or RC, although the receiving department may instead use RN.
Transfers Involving the Three Faculties
For the 2025 transfer rules covering the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Future Science, and the Faculty of System Design and Technology, specialized education courses are recognized according to course correspondence and counted using the credit value of the receiving faculty, regardless of the course's designated academic year. Grades are recorded as RS, RA, RB, or RC, although the receiving department may instead use RN.
