Maximum Enrollment Period and How It Is Calculated

This page explains the maximum enrollment period, how periods of leave of absence are treated, and the consequences of exceeding the limit.

Rules for the Faculty of Science and Technology

For the 2025 academic year at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus, a student who exceeds the maximum enrollment period will be removed from the university’s register. A period of leave of absence is not included in the calculation of the years of enrollment.

Rules for the Faculty of Engineering

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus, the maximum enrollment period is eight years. For students admitted by transfer, transfer-in, or readmission, the maximum enrollment period is twice the number of years for which the student is required to be enrolled.
