Consequences of Vehicle-Commuting Violations

Repeated violations can lead from a warning to a severe reprimand and cancellation of vehicle-commuting permission. Commuting by vehicle after permission has been cancelled may result in suspension or expulsion.

Graduated response to violations in 2025

For the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus, the prescribed response is progressive: first, the student receives a warning. If violations continue, the Dean issues a severe reprimand. If violations continue after that reprimand, vehicle-commuting permission is cancelled.

Second and subsequent violations in 2026

In 2026, a person who continues to commit violations after receiving a warning is subject to a severe reprimand by the Dean. If violations continue after the severe reprimand, vehicle-commuting permission is cancelled.

Commuting after permission has been cancelled

If a person whose vehicle-commuting permission was cancelled through the graduated process continues to commute by vehicle, suspension or expulsion may be imposed under Article 46 of the University Regulations. This consequence is stated for both 2025 and 2026.
