Scholarship Eligibility and Award Limits

This page explains who may qualify for the scholarship, how eligibility is confirmed, and the limits on when and how often it can be awarded.

Who may be eligible

The scholarship is intended for students and pupils of schools established by the Tokyo Denki University Educational Foundation who have excellent personal qualities, good academic results, and difficulty paying school expenses. It is also provided to students enrolled in Tokyo Denki University or its graduate school. For academically excellent Tokyo Denki University students who will proceed to the University's master's program, the scholarship may also apply. Prospective graduate-school students who have difficulty paying tuition may also be eligible.

How eligibility is confirmed

Students who need a scholarship because of a sudden change in their family's financial circumstances, or for a similar reason, may consult at any time. The Student Welfare Desk receives the consultation and confirms whether the student is eligible to apply.

When and how often the scholarship is awarded

For the Faculty of Engineering, the scholarship is awarded only in the first year of entering a master's program. For the Faculty of Engineering Evening Division, it is awarded only in the first year of entering a master's program and may be paid no more than once in the same academic year.
