Graduation Review Eligibility and Deferred Graduation

This page explains who is eligible for the year-end graduation review and what happens when graduation requirements are not met.

Who is eligible for the graduation review

The graduation review is conducted for fourth-year students who have been enrolled in the fourth year for a combined total of at least 12 months. Periods of leave of absence are excluded from this total, and students must not be on leave of absence at the year-end review. This rule applies to the Future Science Faculty in academic years 2025 and 2026 and to the Faculty of Engineering in academic year 2025 at Tokyo Senju Campus.

Eligibility in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division

In academic year 2026, the graduation review for fourth-year students in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, is conducted when the student has been enrolled in the fourth year for a combined total of at least 12 months, excluding periods of leave of absence, and is not on leave of absence at the year-end review.

If graduation requirements are not met

In academic year 2026, a student in the Faculty of System Design Engineering who does not meet the graduation requirements at the graduation review is deferred from graduation and remains in the fourth year.
