What Happens If You Do Not Meet Progression Conditions

Students who do not meet the conditions for advancement remain in the same academic year. In the listed faculties and academic years, they may also need to register for unearned courses and undergo another progression judgment at the end of the year.

Repeating the Year and Undergoing Another Progression Judgment

If a progression judgment results in repeating a year, you repeat the same academic year, register for courses you have not yet earned, and undergo another progression judgment at the end of the academic year. This procedure applies to the following scopes: the 2025 academic year in the Faculty of System Design and Technology, the Faculty of Engineering, and the School of Future Science at Tokyo Senju Campus; the 2026 academic year in the School of Future Science and the Faculty of System Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus; and the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus.

Remaining in the Original Academic Year

If you do not meet the conditions for advancement, you remain in your original academic year and repeat that year. This rule is stated for the 2025 academic year in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus; the 2026 academic year in the School of Future Science at Tokyo Senju Campus; the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus; the 2026 academic year in the Second Division of the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus; and the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus.
