How Poor Academic Performance Can Affect Your Progression

Poor academic results may affect year progression, delay graduation, or lead to expulsion in certain circumstances.

Expulsion for particularly poor academic performance

For the 2026 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus, a student in the Faculty of Future Science whose academic performance is particularly poor and who has no prospect of improvement is subject to expulsion from the university register.

Repeating a year or delayed graduation

For the 2025 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus, if a student advances to an upper academic year while still having poor academic results in lower years, the student may have to repeat a year or experience delayed graduation. This applies to the Faculty of Future Science and the Faculty of System Design and Technology.
