Limits on Repeating the Same Academic Year

This page explains when exceeding the limit for remaining in the same academic year can result in dismissal, including an exception for the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division.

Faculty of System Design and Technology: 2025

For the 2025 academic year, a student in the Faculty of System Design and Technology who remains in the same academic year for more than four cumulative years and still cannot advance to the next year is subject to dismissal.

Faculty of System Design and Technology: 2026

For the 2026 academic year, a student in the Faculty of System Design and Technology is removed from enrollment if they have spent more than four cumulative years in the same academic year and still cannot advance to the next year.

Faculty of Engineering, Second Division: 2026

For the 2026 academic year, a student in the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division, who cannot advance and exceeds four years in the same academic year is dismissed. The four-year limit for the same academic year does not include the fourth year or periods taken as a leave of absence.
