Required Courses by Year and Study Track

This page explains which first-year, shared, experimental, practical, and seminar-related courses are required in specific faculties, departments, campuses, and study tracks.

First-Year and Shared Courses in the Science and Technology Faculty

For the 2025 Electronic Information and Biomedical Engineering study model at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus, students must take the required courses assigned to the first year and the courses shared across the study group. For the 2026 Electronic Information Engineering study model at the same campus, students must take the required first-year courses and the courses shared across the study group. They must also take English, mathematics, information, and natural science and technology courses and are expected to earn credits in them.

Shared and Specialised Courses in the Life Sciences Study Model

For the 2025 Life Sciences study model at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus, specialised courses begin in the second year. In the second and third years, students mainly take courses shared across the study group and specialised courses. The shared courses are required regardless of which of the two courses a student belongs to. For the 2026 Life Sciences study model, experimental and exercise courses are required, and students must register for them.

Experimental and Practical Subjects in Robotics and Mechatronics

For the 2026 Robotics and Mechatronics Department in the Faculty of Future Science at the Tokyo Senju Campus, almost all experimental and practical subjects from the second year onward are required. Together with the first-year Hands-on Workshop, these subjects must be taken by all students.

Lower-Year Subjects in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

For the 2026 Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department in the Faculty of Engineering at the Tokyo Senju Campus, subjects in electrical circuits, electromagnetism, electronic circuits, and electrical mathematics are assigned as required subjects in the lower years.
