How Credits Count Toward Progression Requirements

Credits that are not counted

Credits from free elective subjects are not included in the number of credits used for progression requirements. This applies to the listed 2025 curriculum tracks in the Faculty of Science and Technology: the Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems Design, and Life Sciences tracks, and to the 2026 Mechanical Engineering track.

For students in the 2025 Faculty of Science and Technology, credits from subjects offered by the Faculty of Future Science, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Second Division, or Faculty of System Design Engineering are not counted toward progression or graduation requirements.

Recognized courses assigned to a higher year

For the 2026 Faculty of Future Science, including the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics, a recognized course assigned to a year higher than your current year is shown on your transcript and is included in progression requirements.

For a course assigned to a higher academic year, its credits are counted in the FR category toward the progression requirement for the year to which the course is assigned. In the FI category, the credits are counted toward the progression requirement for your current year.

Credits recognized after transfer admission

For students admitted by transfer into the second or third year of the Faculty of Science and Technology, credits for results earned before admission are recognized when they enter the university. As a result, the progression requirements shown for each curriculum system may differ from the requirements applicable to these transfer students.
