Registering for Courses with Timetable Overlaps
These rules explain how timetable conflicts affect course registration at each campus and faculty.
Tokyo Senju Campus: One Course per Overlapping Time Slot
For the 2025 academic year in the Faculty of Science and Technology, the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Science and Technology, and the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Engineering (Evening Division), if two or more courses overlap on the same weekday and in the same class period on the timetable, you may register for only one of them. This applies regardless of whether the courses are required, elective, or free-choice courses. An exception is described in Section 3-5, Special Course Registration.
Saitama Hatoyama Campus: Overlapping Courses Cannot Be Registered Together
For the 2025 academic year and the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, you may not register for courses that are offered in the same academic term, on the same weekday, and in the same class period. In other words, courses scheduled for the same time cannot be taken together.
