Eligibility for Upper-Year Courses

Course eligibility depends on the academic year allocation and, in some cases, the department’s rules. The applicable guidance differs between the Faculty of Future Science and the Faculty of Science and Technology.

Faculty of Future Science: Tokyo Senju Campus

For the 2025 academic year, each department determines whether students may take courses assigned to an upper academic year. As a general rule, students may not take upper-year courses, except in special cases.

Faculty of Science and Technology: Hatoyama Campus

For the 2025 academic year, a course must generally be assigned to your own academic year or to a lower academic year.
