What Can Change When You Retake a Course?

When you retake a course, its assigned term, timetable, and instructor may differ from the previous offering. The applicable rules depend on your academic year, faculty, and campus.

Check the course term and instructor

When you retake a course, the term in which it is offered may have changed, and the instructor may also be different. Take these possible changes into account when planning your course registration. These points are stated for the 2025 and 2026 academic years in the specified faculties at Tokyo Senju Campus: the Faculty of Engineering, Second Division; the Faculty of Systems Design and Technology; the Faculty of Engineering; and the Faculty of Future Science.

Retake timetable and instructor requirements at Hatoyama Campus

For the 2025 academic year in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Hatoyama Campus, a retake course is not necessarily scheduled in the same semester, on the same day, or during the same class period as in the previous academic year. If the instructor has changed since the previous academic year, you must retake the course under the instructor assigned in the retake year.
