When Course Credits Are Recognized

Credits are generally recognized when the term in which a course ends has finished. This page also explains the timing for advance-enrolment credits and exceptions.

Usual credit-recognition timing

Credits are generally recognized at the end of the term in which you complete the course, meaning at the end of the first or second semester. For the 2026 academic year, this rule applies to the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus and the Faculty of Engineering, Evening Division, at Tokyo Senju Campus. It also applies to repeat enrolment in those scopes; credits are not recognized at other times. The same term-end rule is stated for the 2025 academic year in the Faculty of Systems Design and Technology, the Faculty of Future Science, and the Faculty of Engineering, Evening Division, all at Tokyo Senju Campus.

Advance-enrolment credits and exceptions

For the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Future Science at Tokyo Senju Campus, credits recognized through advance enrolment are reflected when grades are issued at the end of the first semester after admission to graduate school. In the 2026 Faculty of Science and Technology scope at Saitama Hatoyama Campus, R-recognition courses and some intensive courses are exceptions to the usual term-end timing.
