Course Credit and Grade Recognition After a Department Transfer

This page explains how common education and specialist education courses are recognized, counted, and graded after a department transfer.

Specialist education courses

For a department transfer within the Faculty of Engineering, within the School of Science and Technology, or within the School of System Design and Technology, specialist education courses are recognized through course correspondence and included in the destination faculty or school’s credit count, regardless of the assigned year. Grades are evaluated as RS, RA, RB, or RC. The destination department may instead evaluate them as RN.

Common education courses

For a department transfer within the Faculty of Engineering, within the School of Science and Technology, or within the School of System Design and Technology, common education courses in human sciences, engineering basics, and English are recognized through course correspondence, regardless of the assigned year. Grades are evaluated as S, A, B, or C. The destination department may instead evaluate them as RN.
