Using the Attendance Card Reader

Learn how to confirm a successful attendance card read from the reader’s sound and lamp, and what to do if an unexpected screen appears.

Check the reader’s sound and lamp

For 2025 students at Tokyo Senju Campus, a successful card read produces an OK beep and a green lamp. An error produces three NG beeps and a red lamp. Check the lamp as well as listening to the sound when tapping your student ID card. The lamp may also flash to show the result. In the Faculty of Future Science, either a short or long sound may occur during a normal card read; this difference can be caused by controller load or the buzzer’s mechanical condition and does not indicate a reading problem.

If an unexpected screen appears

For 2026 students at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, inform the instructor in charge if a screen other than the one shown in the reference image is displayed.
