Items You May Use or Borrow During an Examination

This page explains the permission required to borrow writing supplies and use electronic devices during examinations.

Borrowing Writing Supplies

In the 2025 academic year, students in the Faculty of Future Science and the Faculty of Engineering, Division II, at Tokyo Senju Campus may not borrow writing supplies or similar items unless the invigilator gives permission.

Using Electronic Devices

In the 2025 academic year for the Faculty of System Design Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus, and in the 2026 academic year for the same faculty and campus, electronic devices may not be used during an examination unless the course instructor gives permission. Prohibited devices include laptop computers, mobile phones, smartphones, smartwatches and other wearable devices, tablets, electronic dictionaries, IC recorders, earphones other than hearing aids, and music players. Using a device as a calculator or clock is also not permitted.
