Attending Classes Outside the Classroom or from Abroad

The permitted ways to attend classes from outside the usual classroom or from a foreign country differ by academic year and programme.

Eligible Saitama Hatoyama Campus courses in 2025

For eligible courses at the Saitama Hatoyama Campus, students may attend from a place other than the classroom or other room where the class is conducted. This applies regardless of the year of study assigned to the course by the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

Classes taken outside the venue or from a foreign country in 2026

For the Faculty of Engineering Division II in 2026, lectures, seminars, and similar classes may be taken outside the classroom or other venue where the class is held through the advanced use of diverse media. Classes may also be taken in a foreign country by the same means. Both arrangements are subject to conditions separately prescribed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
