Classes on Holidays and Substitute Closure Days

2026 schedule: Hatoyama Campus, Faculty of Science and Engineering

The following holiday and substitute arrangements apply to the 2026 academic year at the Hatoyama Campus Faculty of Science and Engineering:

- September 21: Classes are held for Respect for the Aged Day; the substitute closure day is October 2. - September 22: Classes are held on the national holiday; the substitute closure day is December 26. - September 23: Autumnal Equinox Day. - October 2: Substitute closure day for the September 21 class day. - October 12: Classes are held for Sports Day; the substitute closure day is January 5, 2027. - November 23: Classes are held for Labor Thanksgiving Day; the substitute closure day is January 6, 2027.

Holiday class days at Tokyo Senju Campus

To secure the required number of class days, classes may be scheduled on public holidays and other holidays. For the 2025 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus Faculty of Science and Technology, September 15, Respect for the Aged Day, and September 23, Autumnal Equinox Day, are class days. September 11 is the university founding anniversary.

The same principle of scheduling classes on holidays applies to the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus Faculty of System Design and Engineering.

The 2025 academic-year schedule includes these class days and substitute closure days:

- April 29, Showa Day: Classes are held. May 2 is the substitute closure day. - October 13, Sports Day: Classes are held. October 15 is the substitute closure day for September 15. - October 30 and 31: Classes are suspended for university festival preparation. - November 1 and 2: Classes are suspended for the university festival. - November 3 and 4: Classes are suspended for university festival cleanup. November 3 is Culture Day. - November 8: Classes for the latter semester begin. - November 23, Labor Thanksgiving Day, and November 24, the substitute holiday: Classes are held on November 24.
