Eligibility and Application Requirements for a Leave of Absence

Students who cannot attend classes for at least three consecutive months because of illness or another unavoidable reason may apply for a leave of absence under the applicable faculty rules.

Faculty of Engineering, Second Division

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus, a student who cannot attend classes for three consecutive months or longer because of illness or another unavoidable reason may apply for a leave of absence. The application must include a physician’s certificate or a statement of reasons, be jointly signed by the student and the guarantor, and receive permission from the dean.
