Leave-of-Absence Limits and Consequences of Not Returning

Students who remain on leave beyond the applicable cumulative limit without returning may be removed from the student register. The applicable rule differs by academic scope.

Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo Senju Campus (2025)

A student who does not return from leave after exceeding the cumulative leave-of-absence period prescribed in Article 44, paragraph 2, is removed from the student register.

Faculty of Engineering, Division II, Tokyo Senju Campus (2026)

A student who exceeds the cumulative leave-of-absence period prescribed in Article 44, paragraph 2 and still does not return from leave is subject to removal from the student register.

Faculty of Science and Technology, Saitama Hatoyama Campus (2026)

A student who does not return from leave after exceeding a cumulative leave-of-absence period of three years is removed from the student register.
