Who Can Be Your Guarantor?
This page explains the eligibility and residence requirements for a guarantor in the specified faculties, campuses, and academic years.
Who is eligible to be a guarantor?
A guarantor must be your father, mother, or another adult who maintains an independent livelihood. This requirement is stated for the Faculty of Future Science at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2026; the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in academic year 2025; the Faculty of Engineering at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2025; and the Faculty of System Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2025.
Where must the guarantor live?
As a general rule, the guarantor must reside in Japan. This is stated for the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in academic year 2025; the Faculty of Future Science at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2026; and the Faculty of System Design and Technology at Tokyo Senju Campus in academic year 2025.
