Changing Your Initial Password and Password Requirements
This page explains when to replace your initial password and the password conditions supported for the 2025 and 2026 academic-year scopes.
2025: Changing the Initial Password and Setting a Password
For the 2025 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Future Science, change the initial password to a password of your own as soon as your account is issued. Do not continue using the information system with the initial password unchanged. The initial password becomes unusable after a certain period following issuance, so it must be changed before then; the length of this period is not specified here.
Your password must satisfy all of the listed conditions. Set it to between 10 and 20 characters, inclusive, and include at least one character from each of these four types: uppercase English letters (A–Z), lowercase English letters (a–z), digits (0–9), and symbols that can be used in the information system. The guideline also states that passwords should use varied character types and be longer so that they are difficult to analyze or discover.
2026: Password Length and Character Types
For the 2026 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus in Division II of the Faculty of Engineering, set the password length to between 10 and 20 characters, inclusive. Include at least one character from each of these four types: uppercase English letters (A–Z), lowercase English letters (a–z), digits (0–9), and symbols that can be used in the information system.
The available text also begins a condition stating that strings that other people can easily guess or identify through analysis must not be used as passwords. The explanation of which strings are covered by this condition is incomplete in the available page text.
