Student Discipline: Grounds, Measures, and Notification

This page explains when disciplinary action may be taken, the measures available in specified faculties and academic years, and how certain actions are communicated.

When disciplinary action may be taken

At the Tokyo Senju Campus, a student may be disciplined for violating university rules or regulations or for acting contrary to the duties or proper role of a student. The disciplinary authority and deliberation process differ by the stated scope: in the 2025 School of System Design and Technology, 2025 Faculty of Future Science, and 2025 Faculty of Engineering, discipline is imposed by the President after deliberation by the Faculty Council. In the 2026 School of System Design and Technology, discipline is imposed by the President after deliberation by the Faculty Meeting.

Available disciplinary measures

Depending on the circumstances, the disciplinary measures are expulsion, suspension, or reprimand. This applies to the 2025 Faculty of Future Science, the 2025 School of System Design and Technology, and the 2026 School of System Design and Technology at the Tokyo Senju Campus.

How certain disciplinary actions are communicated

For cases under Article 9, the dean, after deliberation by the Faculty Council, takes one of the prescribed measures against the student. The measure is publicly announced, and the student's guarantor is notified. This provision is stated for the 2025 Faculty of Engineering, Division II, and the 2025 Faculty of Future Science at the Tokyo Senju Campus.
