High School Teaching Certificate: Credit Requirement Adjustment

For the 2026 academic year at the Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Future Science, certain credits may reduce the required credits for subject-specific specialist studies.

How the 30-credit requirement is adjusted

When obtaining a high school teaching certificate, if the three courses referred to above are counted as credits in “Courses Independently Established by the University,” the requirement to earn at least 30 credits in “Specialist Matters Related to the Subject” under “Courses Related to Subjects and Teaching Methods” is reduced by the number of credits earned from those courses. If you have already earned at least 30 credits in Specialist Matters Related to the Subject, you do not necessarily need to complete the three courses.
