Continuing Graduation Research and Credit Recognition

The department chair’s decision at the end of the first semester of your third year determines whether you may continue Graduation Research and when its credits are recognized.

Academic Year 2026

At the end of the first semester of the third year, you must have the department chair’s approval to continue taking Graduation Research. If the chair decides that you may not continue, you must discontinue the course. If the chair permits you to continue, the credits are recognized in the fourth year.

Academic Year 2025

At the end of the first semester of the third year, if the department chair decides that you may not continue Graduation Research, you must discontinue taking it. Even if you are permitted to continue, the credits are recognized in the fourth year.
