Hydraulic Experiment Requirements and Recommendations

This page explains when the Hydraulic Experiment course is required and when it is strongly recommended in the Architecture and Urban Environment study model.

Requirements for the 2025 study model

For the 2025 Architecture and Urban Environment study model, students whose major course is Urban Environment must complete the Hydraulic Experiment course. If Urban Environment is the major course and Architecture is the minor course, students must earn at least 3 credits from the four experiment courses—Materials Experiment, Soil Mechanics Experiment, Structural Experiment, and Hydraulic Experiment—and must also take Hydraulic Experiment.

Strong recommendation for experiment courses

In the 2025 study model, the common-course requirements described for progression from the third year to the fourth year are satisfied. To develop practical technical skills, judgment, report-writing ability, and presentation skills, students are strongly recommended to take experiment courses such as Materials Experiment, Soil Mechanics Experiment, Structural Experiment, and Hydraulic Experiment.

Requirement for the 2026 major-minor combination

For the 2026 Architecture and Urban Environment study model, students who choose Urban Environment as their major course and Architecture as their minor course must take Hydraulic Experiment.
