Eligibility for Special Study Guidance

For the 2025 academic year, this page explains the eligibility criteria for special study guidance and when guidance may involve a guarantor.

Who may be considered for special study guidance

A student may be considered for special study guidance if they received study guidance in the preceding semester and meet both of these criteria: they have earned fewer than 8 credits, excluding courses not subject to the course-registration-limit restriction, and their GPA is below 1.0.

When a guarantor may be present

If an interview finds that a student eligible for special study guidance lacks study motivation, the dean may conduct special study guidance with the guarantor present. This guidance is intended to encourage motivation, support early improvement in learning activities, and provide an opportunity to reconsider the student's future path. A recommendation to withdraw may also be considered.
