Special Academic-Guidance Interview Criteria and Withdrawal Recommendation

For the 2026 academic year at Tokyo Senju Campus in the Faculty of Engineering, this page explains when a special academic-guidance interview is held and what may follow.

Interview eligibility and possible outcome

A special academic-guidance interview is conducted for a student who received a preliminary recommendation to withdraw in the preceding semester and meets either of these criteria: a credit acquisition rate of 60% or less at the end of the most recent semester, or a GPA below 1.0. Following the interview, if the student appears to lack motivation to continue studying, the faculty dean may issue a recommendation to withdraw.
