End-of-First-Semester Graduation: Eligibility and Evaluation Requirements

This page explains the fourth-year enrollment, leave-of-absence, graduation-requirement, and course-evaluation rules for end-of-first-semester graduation in the specified academic years and faculties.

2025: School of Engineering, Division II

End-of-first-semester graduation is considered for students whose graduation was deferred because they did not meet the graduation conditions. To be eligible for consideration, you must have been enrolled for a combined total of at least 12 months during the fourth year. Periods of leave of absence do not count toward these 12 months. The determination is conducted only for students who meet this enrollment condition; students who are on leave of absence when the determination is made are not eligible.

2026: School of Engineering

End-of-first-semester graduation applies to students whose graduation was deferred because they did not satisfy the graduation conditions. You must have been enrolled for a combined total of at least 12 months during the fourth year, excluding periods of leave of absence. If you satisfy the prescribed graduation requirements, including the required graduation credits, you graduate at the end of the first semester, in September. The applicable graduation requirements are those presented to you in your year of admission. A student who is on leave of absence when the determination is made is not eligible for that determination.

2025: School of System Design and Technology

If you were a student whose graduation was deferred at the end of March and you wish to graduate at the end of the first semester, full-year courses may be evaluated at the end of the first semester if permission is granted.
