Study Abroad Duration and Counting the Period Toward Your Studies

For students in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Saitama Hatoyama Campus in academic year 2025, study abroad is generally for one year, with limited recognition of shorter periods. An approved study abroad period may count toward the prescribed period of study for up to one year.

Study Abroad Period and Recognition Toward the Period of Study

The standard study abroad period is one year. However, a short-term study abroad programme at a university or other institution approved by Tokyo Denki University may be specially permitted even when it lasts less than one year. Under Article 49, Paragraph 2, an approved study abroad period may be included in the prescribed period of study under Article 12, up to a maximum of one year.
