Doctoral Dissertation Publication Requirements

For doctoral degrees awarded in the 2026 academic year at the School of Future Science on the Tokyo Senju Campus, the full dissertation must normally be published within one year of the degree award date. An approved exception may allow publication of a summary instead.

Publication deadline and exception

A person awarded a doctoral degree must publish the full text of their dissertation within one year from the date the doctoral degree was awarded. If there is an unavoidable reason, the degree recipient may publish a summary instead of the full dissertation, but this requires approval from the Graduate School Committee.
