Scholarship Eligibility Loss and Repayment
This page explains circumstances that can end eligibility for the student support grant scholarship and when repayment of grants already received may be required.
When scholarship eligibility may be lost
For the 2026 academic year, scholarship students in the Faculty of Future Science and the Faculty of System Design Engineering may lose eligibility if they make false statements or similar misrepresentations in documents submitted to the University, and the Director of the Student Support Center finds them unsuitable as scholarship students. In the Faculty of Future Science, eligibility may also be lost when a student has poor academic performance or conduct and the Director reaches the same finding. In the Faculty of System Design Engineering, eligibility may also be lost when a student takes a leave of absence during the year in which the grant is received and the Director finds the student unsuitable as a scholarship student.
When repayment may be required
If a scholarship student loses eligibility for a reason covered by the rule, the grant already paid must be repaid in full to the University without delay when the Director of the Student Support Center and the relevant Graduate School Committee Chair or Dean have consulted and the President finds repayment appropriate. This repayment provision is stated for the 2026 academic year in the Faculty of Future Science, the Faculty of Engineering (Second Division), and the Faculty of System Design Engineering.
